Support for CPS Teachers
The Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Teachers Union are helping Chicago teachers attend the Chicago Lesson Study Conference. CTU will pay half of the registration cost for teams of 3 or more CTU members. CPS Department of Literacy will pay for substitutes. Teachers do not need to be CTU members to receive substitute coverage.
Procedure for the CTU Discount
Teams of 3 or more CTU members should go through the regular registration process and select the special CTU rate, which is 50% of the regular rate. Once membership in CTU has been confirmed, CTU will pay the remaining 50%. Non-members will have their registration rejected.
Procedure for substitute coverage
On the days of the conference, schools should fax substitute timesheets to the CPS Department of Literacy, (773) 553-3499.
